How to use it

Start with the question, not the largest scan

If the video appears to contain one main song, Quick checks a small set of useful moments and stops after a confident match. When several songs appear throughout a vlog, compilation or set, Full scan is the appropriate choice. A known moment is best handled with Timestamp scan.

This choice matters because a broader scan performs more downloads and recognition attempts. It is not automatically more accurate for a single song; it simply searches more moments.

How to judge the result

Open the timestamp and compare the returned recording with the original video. A provider may identify the underlying release while the video uses a remix, live performance or sped-up edit.

Use the feedback below a result when the title is wrong, a song is missing or the returned version is different. These categories are more useful for improving recognition than a generic failure report.

When a scan needs a second try

Use a Timestamp scan when you know where the music appears. It requests only a short window around that moment, which is faster than looking through an entire long video.

If a result is missing, move to a clearer section with stable melody or drums. Covers, remixes, live takes and heavily edited short-form audio may not share the reference fingerprint of the original release.

What a browser-based scan can access

tunescout is independent from YouTube and Shazam. It checks short audio sections from public video links and returns matches with timestamps; it does not control a mobile app or use a video's title as proof of the music.
