Find Background Music in YouTube Videos

A quiet song underneath a voice-over is hard for a normal music app to hear. Deep analysis separates voices from the music before recognition, giving background tracks a much better chance of being identified.

How to use it

  1. Paste the video link

Add the YouTube URL and choose the point in the video, if you know it.

  2. Enable Deep analysis

Deep analysis removes vocals from clips with no initial match.

  3. Try a focused timestamp scan

For long videos, scan only the moment where the background track plays.

Choose a section where the music has evidence

Background music is easiest to identify during pauses in narration, repeated hooks or moments with a steady beat. A Timestamp scan around that section gives recognition a cleaner sample than a random point in a long video.

Deep analysis is available for Quick and Timestamp scans. It estimates the non-speech layer before a second recognition attempt; it is deliberately unavailable for Full scans because separating an entire long video would consume disproportionate processing time.

What separation can and cannot recover

Source separation can reduce a centred speaking voice, but it cannot reconstruct music that was removed during editing or compressed into near silence. Reverb from speech may also remain in the instrumental estimate.

If Deep analysis still finds nothing, try another nearby timestamp. Multiple short attempts at genuinely different musical passages are usually more useful than repeatedly checking the same obscured moment.

Common questions

Will it identify every quiet song?

No recognition service can identify music that is too quiet, heavily edited or absent from its music catalogue.

Why is Deep analysis slower?

It performs an additional AI audio-separation pass before trying recognition again.
